This is a book of hope. No matter how hard life is, there is hope. David Good shares how he persevered amidst seemingly insurmountable obstacles. One of the ideas that really stuck with me was choosing, no matter what was happening in life, to “hold open the door for the next person” and remember you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Two of my favorite quotes in the book:

“If you want something in your life, you give it to others.”

“While intentions are good, only taking action one small step at a time changes things. Actions came first and then those positive feelings of confidence would come later.”

Celebrating David for all he overcame, for choosing to serve people despite being in pain, and for creating a way for people to connect and experience belonging with others.
